1. Origins

Founded in 1933 as Nagafuchi Confectionery in Kurume, Fukuoka, the company reorganized as Marunaga Seika Co., Ltd. in 1956 and entered the ice cream business in 1960, launching popular products like Aisu Manjū and Shirokuma

Marunaga is known for its long-selling frozen treats—including Aisu Manjū (gold medal–winning traditional ice cream buns) and Shirokuma, a shaved-ice dessert with milk and fruit toppings sold nationwide.
